We take anything with a power cord, or can be powered by batteries.
Working Fridges.
We also take lead acid batteries.

We no longer take broken fridges.
We no longer take solar panels.
We do not take cassette or video tapes.
Sorry, we no longer do residential pickups.

Recycling

Drop your electrical waste off at Substation33 where we will dismantle it and separate the components into parts that can be recycled, reused or repurposed, and diverted from landfill.

You will be doing the environment a favour, helping us to give people meaningful work, and helping to create innovative products.

In 2021 Substation33 established a partnership with Containers for Change Qld, whose mission is to eliminate drink container litter from the Queensland environment and landfill, while simultaneously creating fundraising opportunities for community groups and other not-for-profit organisations.

Commercial Coffee Machine Donation Request!

Substation33 are calling on our incredible Logan community to get a newer coffee machine for our solar coffee trailer. We use our solar-powered coffee trailer to support community events and as an opportunity to train young people, staff and employees to assist them in gaining skills for employment. If you or someone you know is thinking of upgrading and no longer need your old machine, please consider donating to Substation33. Call us on 07 3826 1533 if you can help.

Big week on the road for our Flooded Roads team!

A crew of four travelled over 1,000km to Forbes NSW, delivering and installing a new flooded roads warning system for Forbes Shire Council. This installation is our largest to date - spanning more than 19km from the northernmost to southernmost sign. We’re proud to play a part in improving road safety and helping protect communities across Australia!

New IT traineeships

We are excited to announce that our next round of IT traineeships at Substation33 is open for applications! Refurb IT is a 21-week, full-time program, blending real-world IT experience and hands-on training to support young people to confidently move into further employment. Participants will complete a Certificate I in Workplace Skills and receive guidance from qualified youth mentors who provide job readiness and wrap-around support. Saving Space @ Substation33

Workspace is at a premium at Substation33 as we continue to grow. While we have a lot more floor space than we did at our previous location, we still find ourselves needing more to accommodate exciting new projects. If you have visited our new location you would have seen that we have a lot of unused vertical space in our buildings. We have had a lot of success getting laptops into the hands of the community this year as part of our laptops for schools project. We’re looking for more stock to supply to our community! If you would like to help us with your old computers or laptops you might have laying around at home or the workplace - we’re open Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm for e-waste drop offs! International Women’s Day is this Sunday

International Women’s Day is this Sunday and there are a lot of wonderful women who are part of Substations33, working across multiple sites. It’s fair to say that without our fantastic female staff and volunteers, Substation33 would not be here as it is today. It is with heartfelt thanks that we say a big thank you to all the women under the Substation33 banner. Your contributions have not only helped make Substation33 become the supportive inclusive place to work that it is
