Nick shines at COEX 2024 awards night

What a story! Nick came to us many years ago having found out that volunteering and Substation33 can count towards paying off SPER debt. He jumped at the chance and threw himself into doing as many hours as possible.

Nick ended up gaining a lot more than he expected out of the experience. He learned new skills while putting his old skills to good use, found new confidence, made new friends, and landed a job in Substation33’s new container processing facility (Canstation).

But that is not the end of Nick's story. Due to his hard work at Canstation, and his hard work on self-improvement, he has become one of our valued team members and supervisors. We wanted to recognise Nick’s journey, growth, and contribution to Substation33 and entered him into the COEX Containers for Change “Employee of the Year” award. We were thrilled when he won it, but then ecstatic for him that he also took away the biggest award of the night, the “2024 Change Maker of the Year”!

It is amazing to see how far you have come, Nick. We are lucky to have you mate!
