Queensland Mental Health Week
October 8-16th is Mental Health Week in Queensland and the theme this year is 'Awareness, Belonging, Connection', which is fitting for us at Substation33 where we encourage people to look after their mental health via meaningful work to grow skills and build connection to self and others. Our workplace fosters a sense of belonging as part of a team of people dedicated to making a positive impact on our environment and in the lives of others.
The photo above of some of our staff and volunteers includes Bruce, who says “my wife pushed me out of the house and told me to get out and talk to people! Substation33 has been a great place to meet and interact with people who share the same interests as I do”. Bruce’s experience of connection and belonging is common for the majority of people who come to Substation33.
