See IT Be IT Traineeship leads to employment for Michael
Back in April 2022 Michael came to Substation33 under the Work for the Dole scheme. He was quiet but willing to do whatever he was asked and ended up helping to re-paint our bathroom area which was in dire need of a spruce up.
When a position became available in the See IT Be IT Traineeship program Michael was encouraged to apply and he took the chance to increase his knowledge and skill base.
Michael engaged with all areas of the traineeship and never complained about doing even the necessary but mundane tasks. His work ethic was noticed by our staff, and he was given the opportunity to do work experience at a few different places, one of which was He Tech Electronics Design & Manufacturing | Over 25 Years Experience (hetech.com.au).
When Substation33 heard that He Tech had a job opening, we suggested they hire Michael because they had been impressed with him, and he landed himself a job he enjoys!
Here at Substation33 we thrive on helping people gain new skills, more confidence and social capital so that they are closer to being ready for employment, or, as in Michael’s case, ready to get moving on their career journey.
